The carbon filter is a consumable part as when the filter becomes clogged, unwanted grease and odours will not be trapped as effectively as before and smoke will not be extracted as efficiently. If the filter becomes filled with dirt or saturated, it is important to change it as soon as possible as the motor will have to 'labour'. For optimal performance, it is recommended that your filters are replaced every: 3 months (heavy use), 6 months (normal use), 9 months (light use).
